Transvaginal Sonography (TVS)
Transvaginal Sonography (TVS) is considered the gold standard in evaluation and assessment of gynecological disorders, infertility and more. Binghamton Gynecology and Fertility & The Endometriosis Center is the first practice in our region to become certified in ultrasound by the Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM)! TVS is superior to traditional sonograpy because it provides images in clinical situations that are sometimes impossible to visualize with conventional transabdominal sonography. It is used to evaluate and assess:

Uterus
Postmenopausal bleeding
Anomalies
Fibroids
Endometrial fluid
Ovary and Adnexa
Follicular monitoring
Oocyte harvesting for IVF
Adnexal Masses
Screening for postmenopausal ovarian carcinoma
